>>Didn't think streaming radio could get any better than Pandora? With slacker radio for blackberry, it has. I'm Jessica Dalker [assumed spelling] from cnetdownload.com and this is your first look. If you've already got a blackberry and a slacker radio account, downloading this free app is a no brainer. In my opinion, slacker for blackberry has a way better presentation than slacker.com and it's got everything else a good mobile app should have. Slacker radio lists all your custom stations and all slacker jonra based stations on its interface. At the top you'll be able to find the station based on an artist's sound. Play a station and you'll see the name of the song that's playing and who it's by and which artist is playing next. You'll also get to view a timeline of album art starting on the left with songs that just played and moving on to the current and next tracks. You've got your controls at the bottom right which let you pause, skip, save and ban an artist. Too bad you can't just ban their song, however. There are more options in the blackberry menu as well including reading the artist's bio and closing out slacker. Having slacker play stations in the background is one of this apps best feature hands down. The number one feature though is caching stations. If you've got a micro SD card, just click a station name from any screen to start caching it. After you connect the phone to the computer with the USB cord, you'll be able to save the songs to the storage card and then play them whenever you're in a no data zone. I tried this feature out during my underground train commute and it worked flawlessly. It's a killer feature and one that makes this app a must have for all you blackberry fans out there. Slacker radio for blackberry works best on a device running version 4.5 of the OS or higher but you can go down to as low as 4.3. The download is free but you can always upgrade to the premium service for more extras and for no ads. You can get started by searching for slacker radio on cnetdownload.com or on slacker.com.
