>> On Skype for Windows you can talk, see a buddy through your webcam, chat over IM, send files, and play games to connect. Now a new beta update will let you and a friend see one another's computer screen. I'm Jessica Dolcourt with a first look at the free Skype 4.1 beta for Windows. Getting started with screen sharing is as simple as going into the drop down menu under share, and selecting share your screen. You'll then have the option of sharing your entire screen, or just a portion of it. Pick either option and the next thing you'll see is the frame that denotes the portion of your screen you'll be letting your guest see. If you've selected to share a region, you can drag the border to just the window before you begin the screen sharing. If you launch a screen share before you place a call, Skype let's you know that it also needs to begin a call before it can activate the sharing. After you've begun, it's easy to switch back and forth between full screen and partial screen sharing views. Screen sharing is essentially just a broadcast of a video you've taken of your screen, so you're unable to place a video call while you're screen sharing. You'll need to choose one or the other. The video quality was pretty choppy in our tests, making screen sharing best used to casually demonstrate something, maybe how to download a video; where in the computer you need to go to troubleshoot or how to beat a level of a tough game. It's also worth noting that right now screen sharing only works between 2 users at a time, 1 host and 1 guest. You can switch roles easy and often however. Of course we'd like to see improved video quality by the time screen sharing leaves beta, and the ability to share a screen with a group of people. Still it's a valuable addition to Skype services, and you'll be able to start using it immediately for most casual operations. I'm Jessica Dolcourt and this is the Skype 4.1 beta for Windows. ^m00:01:45 [ Music ]

Download.com guide to MS Anti-Spyware
Windows AntiSpyware (beta) is a security technology that helps protect Windows users from spyware and other potentially unwanted software. Known spyware on your PC can be detected and removed. This helps reduce negative effects caused by spyware, including slow PC performance, annoying pop-up ads, unwanted changes to Internet settings, and unauthorized use of your private information. Continuous protection improves Internet browsing safety by blocking more than 50 ways spyware can enter your PC. The worldwide SpyNet community plays a key role in determining which suspicious programs are classified as spyware. Microsoft researchers quickly develop methods to counteract these threats, which are automatically downloaded to your PC, so you stay up-to-date. This product is free of charge for licensed Windows customers. The latest beta refresh, build 1.0.615, addresses issues pertaining to how Windows AntiSpyware (Beta) provides information to the user about processes running on a PC, solves an issue regarding the delivery of new anti-spyware signatures for some customers and provides new signature updates to help protect against recently identified spyware.
