The skinny on Logitech's Ultrathin Keyboard for iPad Mini Video Transcript

HI, I'm David Carnoy, Executive Editor for CNET.com and I'm here with the Logitech ultra thin keyboard mini. This is essentially a smaller version of the company's ultra thin keyboard for the standard size iPad. And what the interesting thing about this keyboard is it essentially acts as a screen cover for your iPad and it adheres magnetically to your iPad creating a very thin profile. The one drawback to the whole set up is it does not protect the back of your iPads. So, your iPad is essentially exposed. But Logitech has done a very good job of matching the finish on the back of the iPad to the back of the keyboard. So, it really looks like one nice integrated package. This comes in both black and white so you can match it with either color iPad. In terms of the actual keyboard, this is one of the best mini keyboards we've seen, at least all the keys are there. There's some shortcut keys as well. It's Still is going to feel a little bit cramp for folks especially with folks with bigger hands. It's a little strange because your hands feel like they need to shift a little bit to the left from your traditional keyboard with all these smaller keyboards for the iPad mini. We are seeing some trade-offs being made. However, this keyboard probably has the least amount of trade-offs. It does offer excellent battery life about 3 months. Logitech says it does charge to your USB and it is a Bluetooth keyboard. You simply pair the keyboard and it props the iPad in the integrated slot on the keyboard, stands up nicely. Essentially, it looks like a mini notebook, a solid keyboard for the iPad mini. I'm David Carnoy and that's the Logitech ultra think keyboard mini. Thanks for watching.

Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Mini (Black) Review

The good: The Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Mini is slim, lightweight, and matches up well with the iPad Mini, serving as a screen protector. While small, the keyboard itself has arguably the best layout and design of any iPad Mini keyboard/case.

The bad: The keyboard is a bit cramped and the case only protects the front of your iPad, not the back.

The bottom line: The Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Mini is arguably the best keyboard/case option available for the iPad Mini, but it still doesn't offer a great typing experience.
