>> Hello. Welcome back to Crossfade TV, where each week we pick our favorite new songs and albums from our site, music.download.com. I'm Kurt Wolff, and my pick this week is the new album from the Scottish band, Sons and Daughters, called "This Gift." The album is the band's third so far. It was produced by Suede's Bernard Butler, and is due to drop January 29. Fans of fellow Scottish Band, Franz Ferdinand, will definitely want to pay attention. Give a listen to the first single, "Guilt Complex." ^M00:00:32 [ Music ] ^M00:00:38 It's a powerhouse song, all jagged guitars and garage rock beats. Add in Adele Bethel's vocals and you've got a potent mix of rockabilly girl groups and early Blondie. ^M00:00:46 [ Music ] ^M00:00:53 If the rest of the album's as strong as this, Sons and Daughters could be one of the most talked about bands of the year. To hear the whole song, just go to music.download.com and search on the band name, Sons and Daughters.

>> Hey. This is Peter Gavin, and my pick this week is Sia. She just released her new album, "Some People Have Real Problems," and we have it streaming on our site. ^M00:01:11 [ Music ] ^M00:01:17 If she sounds familiar, that's because you may recognize her from the electronica group, Zero 7. Or maybe you saw the last episode of the TV show, Six Feet Under, when her song "Breathe" was featured. Well, her new style seems upbeat and orchestrated, and not as down tempo sounding as her previous recordings. Check out the song "Electric Bird." ^M00:01:34 [ Music ] ^M00:01:40 The album also includes a guest appearance by Beck on the song "Academia." We have the entire album streamed, plus a free download of "Electric Bird." So check it out by searching for Sia on our site.

>> Hey. What's up, everyone? I'm Angie Dehoyos and my pick for this week will be one of the most exciting breakthrough R&B pop talents of 2008. Her name is Estelle, with a new single out called "American Boy." ^M00:02:01 [ Music ] ^M00:02:05 The track is produced by Black Eyed Peas mastermind, will.i.am. In fact, the bouncy '70s beats you hear in "American Boy" is the same production originally found in will.i.am's song called "Impatient." ^M00:02:16 [ Music ] ^M00:02:22 If you ask me, Estelle's smooth and soulful vocals, as well as Kanye's celebrity touch make "American Boy" a true boogie funk classic. ^M00:02:30 [ Music ] ^M00:02:34 The album doesn't hit stores until May, but you should be hearing a lot from Estelle the next couple months. Be sure to visit us soon for more Estelle music, featuring Mark Ronson, Swizz Beatz, and John Legend ^M00:02:44 [ Music ]
