>> Hey, what's going on everyone. I'm Jeff Backalar for cnet.com. Here today with professional snowboarder, skate boarder, gold medal-winning Olympic athlete Shaun White. Shaun, what's going on, Shawn.
>> Not much. How are you doing?
>> I'm all right. We're here talking about his brand new game Shaun White Snowboarding World Stage. So Shaun, what is new this time around? We had a game last year for all the systems, this one's just for Wii. What's new with World Stage?
>> I'm excited, just because the first time around it's so hard. I mean, I didn't know what I was really doing, and a lot of you guys had to explain what was actually feasible in the game. You know what I mean, the first time it's fantasy land, we can create whatever we want. And you realize how much programming time goes into just making one simple thing. What was nice is after we did that the first time around, we made the platform, it took us two years to make the game. And now building on top that we were able to kind of alter the things that weren't working as well. So you'll definitely notice that the board responds far more, you know, advanced than it did before. It's definitely working with the game a lot better now that we actually got some time in to perfect it, and the graphics are better. We added more characters, more obstacles, and a lot of it obviously was in the spirit of the Olympics coming up. So we have the World Stage, and you'll go to different countries where you want to ride, you pick the flag where you want to go. And I'm impressed. I think the guys really stepped it up for this -- this round.
>> What were some of the things that maybe you didn't get to do last time that you got to do this time in terms of your actual hands-on.
>> Well, for me it was funny, because I was actually able to do the voice over stuff again. You know what I mean, it's my voice for the character. And I think I did a lot -- you know, just more solid job in the studio. Because you sit in this booth, and you have to scream and shout like, okay, run into trees, Shaun, make noises. Know what I mean?
>> What are the exact modes of the game, what, you know, is there a career, freestyle, how does that pan out?
>> It's kind of whatever you want to do. I mean, there's the freestyle if you want to just go ride. But yeah, there's a career mode where you follow the story and you try to beat competitions, game, all these different prizes and items we have set up. Our biggest complaint was that you don't get to play as me until you got to like, win me toward the very end of the game on the first version. And so this time you'll get, like, little sneak peaks, I'll pop in and out of the game where you can play as me before you actually unlock me.
>> What can we expect in terms of a sound track for World Stage?
>> I'm excited. It's definitely a mix, because I'm way into, like, the whole rock-n-roll side of things. But I feel like I would be cheating the buyers and players if I didn't add some hip-hop here and there, different kind of styles. So I think it's a wide range of things.
>> So around the corner, it's coming up soon, Vancouver 2010. How has been training for that, looking forward to it, how is that going?
>> I don't know, been doing a lot of riding, obviously. I went to Mount Hood in Oregon, and they have a glacier up there. So it's basically the U.S. team had a half pipe that we were able to ride. So I did about two weeks of practice there, and about -- about actually two weeks from now I'll be heading to New Zealand to do more practice. It's going really well though.
>> All right, well good luck in Vancouver at the Olympics. The game is called Shaun White Snowboarding World Stage. For cnet.com I'm Jeff Backalar, thanks for watching.
