>> Hi. I'm David Katzmaier, senior editor from CNET.com and I'm with the Sharp LC-32D44U. This is a 32-inch LCD flat panel TV. It's Sharp's least expensive line of TVs. This also has a 37-inch brother. So this is the entry level in Sharp's lineup. This TV has standard resolution, 1366 by 768. For a TV this small, of course, you don't really want 1080p resolution in a TV of this size. One of the things we really liked about this set was its styling. Sharp's always had some really good looking TVs. This one's no exception. It's glossy black all around the frame, nice rounded edges. The speakers are hidden below here. And there's this kind of little, lower lip-looking silver accent along the bottom here. Of course the rounded stand is included with the TV. That's a matching stand. The remote is little bit less impressive than a lot of the Sharp TV remotes we've seen in the past, small with some crowded buttons, but that's what happens at the entry level. When we turned on the menu system of this TV, we found plenty of options. There's the, of course, five or six adjustable pre-sets. There's also the ability to adjust the picture per input. Each input can have its own picture settings. Around back you will find two HDMI inputs and a PC input, a little bit light on the connectivity, considering a lot of other TVs this year have three our more HDMI inputs, but again, this is an entry-level set. Again, when we looked in the lab, we did find the Sharp's color was a little bit less accurate than we liked to see. The color temperature presets a little bit red, and in the best setting. And when you look at stuff that's a little bit darker, the picture actually looks bluish. In the very darkest area the blacks are quite bluish looking. Of course the blacks on the Sharp are a little bit deeper than a lot of the other LCDs on the market, so that's a good thing. But again, the color accuracy was the real hang up on this TV. Anyway, that's a quick look at the Sharp LC-32D44U, and I'm David Katzmaier. ^M00:01:57 [ Music ]

Sharp AQUOS LC-32D44U Review
The good: The Sharp LC-32D44U produces a relatively deep shade of black and fine shadow detail; exhibits decent screen uniformity; sleek design; nice selection of picture controls; zero-overscan aspect ratio mode available.
The bad: Inaccurate primary colors; darker areas tend toward blue; spotty video processing with 1080i sources; subpar standard-definition processing; soft picture with PC sources; no easy-access front- or side-panel inputs.
The bottom line: While stylish and well featured for an entry-level HDTV, the 32-inch Sharp LC-32D44U's picture quality falls short of expectations.
