>> Jessica Dolcourt: What's the easiest way to get a ring tone? Sharetones is a new application in beta for Android that gives a clubber answer. I'm Jessica Dolcourt let's take a look at Sharetones 1.0 beta. When you launch it Sharetones takes stock of the music on your Android phone. It sends your tunes to its database and looks for ringtones that other users have marked out. Note that if another user hasn't created the ringtone you won't get a result, sorry. Sharetones returns the ringtone options to your phone. You'll see the number of matching ringtones right below the song name and artist, tap it once to see the time stamp and tap again for an audio preview. The screen is really basic from here. You can pause the ringtone or chose to save it. Saving uses the time settings on the original ringtone to rip your song into a tone and then it saves it locally onto your phone. So you're not actually downloading an MP3. What you're really downloading is a formula or a recipe and using that to carve out a ringtone from your own song. Ordinarily saving a formula will prompt you to commit to a subscription but Sharetones will be free during its beta period. After that it will cost about $1.50 for 3 ringtone recipes, $2.50 for unlimited use for a month or $7.50 for unlimited use for a year. The app isn't the prettiest but what it really needs are navigation tools to scroll back and forth through the previews in the preview screen. A built in editor will also be helpful if you feel so inclined to add a new ringtone to the Sharetone data base. We'll also suggest a way to flag or rate other people's ringtone recipes. Since the program is still in beta we'll hopefully see some of these improvements transpire until then what we've got is a decent start [background music] especially since you can get ringtones for free before Sharetones publisher starts charging. Start by downloading Sharetones beta from the Android marketplace. I'm Jessica Dolcourt this has been Sharetones for Android, version 1.0 beta.

VHS or Beta: "Can't Believe A Single Word"

A long way from its Louisville, Kentucky, indie-rock roots, and pushing past the French disco-funk of its past offering "Le Funk," VHS or Beta further explores its knack for cleverly combining rock and dance music. With an unabashed '80s sound steeped in stylized Duran Duran exuberance, as well as the darker elements of Echo and the Bunnymen, VHS or Beta isn't afraid to indulge in its influences.

"The Pink Panther" trailer

A famous soccer coach has been murdered and his priceless ring stolen--a ring set with the stunning diamond known as the Pink Panther. Cracking the case becomes a national obsession, and Chief Inspector Dreyfus (Kline), up for the prestigious Medal of Honor (again, for the seventh time) can't afford any mistakes--at least none that can be attributed to him. Enter indefatigable Inspector Jacques Clouseau (Martin), a name that strikes fear into...well, everyone. His deductive powers are limited, his command of the language frightening, his reflexes hazardous. His approach may be alarmingly unorthodox, but he always solves the crime--in his own fashion--with hilarious results. Get ready to be tickled pink! Comic superstar Steve Martin stars as Clouseau in an all-new adventure of "The Pink Panther".
