The Scanadu Scout, like a tricorder for your health Video Transcript
Hi guys, this is Brian Bennett at CNET.com, and we're at CES 2013. And we're taking a first look at the Scanadu Scout. Now do remember one of these things? It's a Star Trek tricorder. Now this isn't the real device, but this Scanadu Scout is essentially, supposed to be a medical tricorder, especially a mobile thermometer that's super high tech and will replace your bold, you know, analog thermometer at home. You just stick it right here on your temple, wait 10 seconds, and after that you basically get readings for all sorts of health stats. So, you get not only you temperature, but you also get your blood flow, blood oxygen level, your heart rate, and once you get all this data you can send it to your mobile device, that would either an android handset, your iPhone, or a Windows phone -- smartphone. So basically, what you do with this, you can take a look at this data, you can see it online, you can track it over time, basically gives a whole recording of your health that you can take to your doctor to prove, you know, maybe you feel fine or something like that, but it's also -- basically something that you can use to maybe even measure the kids temperature if you have no idea if they're sick or not, and you don't have to, you know, use any sort of invasive methods. So, all in all this is a pretty interesting product. As far as availability is concerned, it's still undergoing FDA review, but we're told it'll probably cost 150, and hopefully be available by the -- maybe the end of the third quarter or fourth quarter this year. I'm Brian Bennett and this has been a first look at the Scanadu Scout.

"Goal! The Dream Begins" trailer
How far would you go to live your dream? When Santiago Munez (Kuno Becker) is given the chance of a lifetime, he must leave his family, his life in Los Angeles and everything that he knows to travel halfway around the globe to England and into a completely foreign world ? the exciting, fast-paced and glamorous world of international soccer. As an underprivileged Mexican-American immigrant growing up in the poor section of Los Angeles, Santiago seemed destined to follow his father's path in life: laboring at menial jobs to earn just enough money to support his family. Naturally gifted, his amazing talent on the soccer field was wasted in recreation league games while he could only dream of playing on the world stage of professional soccer. But when a British scout (Stephen Dillane) discovers his talent and gets him a tryout with one of England's premier soccer clubs, Newcastle United, Santiago must choose between his father's fate and his own destiny. Now alone in a world where soccer is a religion and players are gods, this underdog must prove that he's got the talent and determination to make it amongst the best in the world. Directed by Danny Cannon, the film features cameos from the soccer's hottest superstars such as David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane, Raul, and Newcastle captain Alan Shearer.
Jarhead (the self-imposed moniker of the Marines) follows "Swoff" (Jake Gyllenhaal), a third-generation enlistee, from a sobering stint in boot camp to active duty, sporting a sniper's rifle and a hundred-pound ruck on his back through Middle East deserts with no cover from intolerable heat or from Iraqi soldiers, always potentially just over the next horizon. Swoff and his fellow Marines sustain themselves with sardonic humanity and wicked comedy on blazing desert fields in a country they don't understand against an enemy they can't see for a cause they don't fully fathom. Jamie Foxx portrays Sergeant Sykes, a Marine lifer who heads up Swofford's scout/sniper platoon, while Peter Sarsgaard is Swoff's friend and mentor, Troy, a die-hard member of STA-their elite Marine Unit. Chris Cooper also stars.
An irreverent and true account of a war that was antiseptically packaged a decade ago, "Jarhead" is laced with dark wit, honest inquisition and episodes that are at once surreal and poignant, tragic and absurd. Directed by Sam Mendes.
