Say hello to the massive LG Optimus G Pro Video Transcript
Hello, everybody! It's Lynn La from CNET and today I have with me an unlocked LG Optimus G Pro. Now, as you can see, the device is big; and it lands right in the middle of that tablet-phone hybrid territory. Unlike LG's last fray into the phablet market with the LG Intuition, however, the G Pro screen has the much more common 16x9 aspect ratio instead of the 4x3. The 5.5-inch full HD IPS display also has a 1920x1080 pixel resolution and 400ppi. It's powered by a very zippy 1.7 Gigahertz Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor and a 3.14 ampere-hour battery. Above the display is a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera; and on the back, there's a 13-megapixel camera that's capable of recording 1080p full HD video. The camera also has a dual-recording feature that lets you record with both cameras simultaneously, so you could film something and your reaction to it at the same time. This 4G LTE-enabled handset also runs Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2, has 2 Gigs of RAM, a microSD card slot that's expandable up to 32 Gigs, and NFC. Some software and UI features include LG's note-taking app QuickMemo, which the phone has a shortcut key on the left side; and QSlide, LG's multi-tasking feature, that is now resizable. Now, unfortunately, the G Pro won't come with a stylus, but it does have wireless charging capabilities if you buy a separate wireless charging back plate from LG. The phone launches in Korea this month but it will make its way to North America in the second quarter. Again, I'm Lynn, and you've been checking out the LG Optimus G Pro.
Though both the AT&T and Sprint LG Optimus Gs have quad-core processors and a 4.7-inch screen, only the latter is equipped with a hefty 13-megapixel camera.
The stylish LG Optimus F7 from U.S. Cellular is a mid-level handset with a 4.7-inch display, Android Jelly Bean, and an 8-megapixel camera.
Equipped with a quad-core Tegra 3 processor, a 4.7-inch True HD IPS display, and an impressive 8-megapixel camera, the Optimus 4X HD is a fantastic LG device.
The LG Optimus F3 from Sprint features a 5-megapixel camera, Android Jelly Bean, and a 4-inch IPS display.
Equipped with a vibrant 5.5-inch full-HD IPS display, a quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, and a 13-megapixel camera, AT&T's LG Optimus G Pro is a powerhouse of a handset.
The new Optimus G from LG is the first smartphone ever to have quad-core Snapdragon S4 pro muscle. It also boasts a big 4.7-inch HD screen, and 13MP camera.
The LG Optimus G from AT&T has an 8-megapixel camera, a zippy quad-core CPU, and a gorgeous 4.7-inch display.
Equipped with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, a 7-inch display, and a Tegra 3 quad-core processor, the Hisense Sero 7 Pro is available only at Walmart for $149.
LG is taking another stab at the "phablet" market with the Optimus G Pro -- a 5.5-inch Jelly Bean handset with a 13-megapixel camera.
Though it sports the same high-end hardware (5-inch 1080p screen, quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, 13-megapixel camera), the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play edition forgoes the TouchWiz user interface for the skinless Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS.
LG Optimus G Pro (unlocked) Review
The good: The LG Optimus G Pro packs a sharp and crisp display, a blazing Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor, and Android Jelly Bean.
The bad: The Optimus G Pro's hefty size can be cumbersome to handle and it doesn't come with a stylus.
The bottom line: Though it lacks a stylus and it won't fit everyone's lifestyle, the LG Optimus G Pro's beautiful touch screen and ultrafast CPU do this handset justice.
