>> What's up? Welcome to the Apple Byte for all the good and bad inside the world of Apple. My black eye has healed. And we'll jump into the news. But, first, we really need to address this whole cat thing. Now I received plenty of emails, really more than I can count from last week's episode. So here's some of them. Andrew Kerley said, my cat is going to eat you. Samuel Benzaquen took the high road saying cats are prettier than you. You look like a mixture of Chewbacca and Dumbledore. So be quiet. Christopher Leow writes, just wanted to say that you were all hating on da felines when in the episode before, you had a cat on your shirt. SNAP. Good point, Christopher. Now Austin Drake sent us several pictures. But I'm a little concerned because having a tiger in your house is pretty dangerous. And John R. had to go there and kill this with cuteness. All right. I have to admit your cat tumble is really cute. And you won't hear this from me often Apple biters, but I am sorry. I was out of line and I've learned my lesson. And in other related news, Apple just released a new iPhone TV ad called Dog Lover, not cat lover, Dog Lover. Now another lesson I've learned from the past week, don't take an iPhone prototype to a bar. You probably heard about it. But an Apple engineer lost the phone at a bar. Gizmodo, through the power of payoff, got their hands on the supposed lost fourth-gen prototype, and they made sure to show off everything about it. So here's what we know. It has a front facing camera, a larger camera lens on the back with a flash, it will be using a micro sim card slot like the iPad 3G, there's a mic hole at the top probably for noise cancellation, and it has a larger battery. It's thinner than the current 3GS, and its blockier design is different from what we've seen in the past from Apple. I'm really thinking this is a prototype for the hardware and not the final design. But that's just my guess. Now the one thing we're sure of it's Apple's, because they asked for it back and Gizmodo returned it. So we'll wait for Steve's offer of introduction of the next iPhone in June that we kind of already seen. Now Apple started the Flash war and Adobe's ending it. Adobe is halting all future development for their Flash to iPhone software. And big things go to Apple's recent change in their developer agreement that prevents Flash Apps from being imported natively to the iPhone through Flash CS5 in the Adobe Creative Suite. Flash's project manager said, if you want a developer for the iPhone, you have to be prepared for Apple to reject or restrict your development at any time. You can't argue that. And thanks to Apple stance, we may never see that amazing Wired magazine app I've been drooling over. [Screaming Noise] And that my friends is worthy of a bad apple and another bad apple and another. But Apple probably doesn't care when its earnings are through the roof. Apple recently reported its best non holiday quarter ever with $13.5 billion in revenue and profits of nearly 90 percent. The iPhone was a rock star selling $8.75 million units for the quarter thanks to an explosive 200 percent year over year growth in China where a recent ruling now allows WiFi capable iPhones to be sold, previous versions restrict of the WiFi feature. Now is Apple preparing to be part of a ticket list future? Two recent discoveries from Patently Apple make it look that way. Check out their Concert Ticket plus System that points to a new iTunes based web service that works with an application on your iPhone. The patent describes accessing live recordings of exclusive content and even purchasing refreshments or merchandise, and the system would also extend to other venues like sporting events and conferences. Then Patently Apple found another one called iTravel which looks to be their travel center out for the iPhone for buying tickets, checking in bags, and going through security, but there's one negative info that sticks out here. Look carefully. There it is. Apple Airline. You see that. Apple will be starting up their own airline service. Amazing. You heard it here first. Scoop of the century. And a quick bite. And I know plenty of you people who bought an iPad, but they're still trying to figure out the best way to hold it and how it really fits into their life.
