-Hi I'm Ken Sherman Senior Editor at CNET.com. I'm here at CTIA Fall 2010 in San Francisco and I wanna show you the Sanyo Zio. This is a new phone for Sprint. Of course we've seen the Zio a couple of times. It was launch with Cricket and now Sprint the second carrier to get it. It will be available on October 10 for $99. Of course that's with the 2-year contract. Now, the Zio looks exactly the same as the phone we saw for Cricket. It has that same slim shape, its all touch screen, you're gonna be using the virtual keyboard and a virtual keypad. The most interesting about this is though is it does have Android OS 2.1. The sprint does say that this we---- be upgradeable to 2.2 at some point we just don't know when. It has the same features you found on the Cricket Zio phone. It has 3.2-megapixel camera, it's gonna bluetooth all the Android refinements that you'd expect, personal organizer, email, media player. It also has something called Sprint ID. This is something that carries and they were seen on 3 other new phones. What it does is it's a little bit like a skin, but it goes a little beyond that. So, as you switch between different IDs, you set them up beforehand. You will see that maybe the background will change. You can add new widgets, you can add certain features. They're all customized for maybe a user. Now this is a feature you have to use. So, when you load up the phone, the first time it will ask you to be give a customized ID---- an ID or use the standard Sprint ID. Now, that's gonna be like we see in a lot other Sprint phones, but of course the Sprint ID is gonna come cluttered with a lot of NASCAR Sprint TV. All of those things maybe you won't use. Since at this point, you can't take the feature off, but it is there for any customization needs. Besides that, everything you'd expect on that original Zio.
