>> Hi. I'm Jasmine France for CNET, and I'm here at CES 2009 with the SanDisk Sansa Slot Radio Player. Now, this is not your average MP3 player. Instead of putting your own songs on here, you actually get a card that's preloaded with 1,000 songs. Now the songs that come on here are actually Billboard top tracks that are arranged into a variety of genre and theme-based playlists that are already done for you. So if you're a lazy type of person that doesn't want to make all your own playlists or pick out all your own music, this is probably a good pick for you. Now, you can use other micro SD cards in here with your own music, but there is not internal memory, so you can't really put anything on the player itself. It does have a limited number of features. There's a screen so you can see what station you're listening to. You can also see the track that's playing and the next track that's coming up. You can scan through the stations using the arrows on either side of the screen. You can also skip tracks, using the button on the side, but that's it. You can't backwards through tracks. You can't play or pause. You just turn it on, and it starts playing. There's also a handy built-in belt clip, so it's a perfect player for the gym, or just if you're on the go. And finally, it has a built-in FM tuner as well, so the switch on the top allows you to switch between the play mode, which will play songs off of the card, and the FM tuner. Now, the player is pretty competitively priced considering all the songs that you get. It's $99.00, including the card that has a thousand songs. And that works out to four cents per song. You can expect to see this player on the shelves in the next three months. I'm Jasmine France, and this has been the SanDisk Sansa Slot Radio Player. ^M00:01:27 [ Music ]

Sansa SlotRadio Review
The good: The SanDisk Sansa SlotRadio is exceptionally easy to use, and no computer is required. Songs are extremely cheap, and the player includes an FM tuner and an integrated belt-clip.
The bad: The SanDisk Sansa SlotRadio suffers from so-so sound quality, and the music it comes with is locked to the cards. Listeners are subject to the whims of the Billboard music editors.
The bottom line: The SanDisk Sansa SlotRadio player is far from your standard MP3 player--and people with persnickety music preferences won't be impressed--but the device is a perfect solution for those who prefer a hands-off approach when it comes to digital music.
