>> Hi, I'm Jasmine France, senior associate editor for www.cnet.com.
>> Jasmine France: And I'm here today with the SanDisk Sansa Clip. Now, this is a very compact and pretty basic MP3 player that has a price tag to match. It comes in one gigabyte, and two gigabyte flavors. And the one gigabyte is only going to set you back about 40 bucks, and the two gigabytes is only about 70 bucks. As you can see it does actually have a screen, and has plenty of controls. And it has a couple of compelling features. The first of which, is a clip that's built into the back here, and this is actually removal, so you can take it off if you don't won't to use it. Now, it has a very simple OLED display, it's only about four lines. But it does allow the player to have a couple of features. You have just basic music playback, it sports MP3, WMA, protective WMA, and audible files. It does sort the songs by artists, album, genre and playlist, so that's a really handy feature. It also has and FM radio, which we also like to see in a gym-friendly player, and this is definitely a gym-friendly player with a built in belt clip. Finally, you have the built in voice recorder, and a set [inaudible] menu, which allows you to set various EQ [assumed spelling] setting, including a user customizable one. I like how SanDisk has managed to put a lot of controls on such a small player. It's not necessary the most eye-catching player out there, but it's definitely not bad to look at. It comes in a few color variations, there's black, which is available in one gigabyte or two gigabytes, and then the two gigabyte varieties, you can also get red, pink, or blue versions. But the big news with this player, I think is the sound quality. This is actual the best sounding SanDisk player that I reviewed, and that's a really good thing. And actually I brought in these sure headphones to illustrate a couple of things. Now, it's a little bit ridiculous to pair these headphones with this player because this is a $500 dollar set of headphones, and this is a $40 dollar MP3 player, but bear with me. Now, one of the things I like about using headphones like these is that their modular, and the cable is nice and short, so when you have it clipped on, you can have the headphones in. The other thing is that the player sounds really good, so it's actually worthy of some decent headphones.

SanDisk Sansa Clip (1GB, sleek black) Review
The good: The SanDisk Sansa Clip offers impressive sound quality; an ultracompact, gym-friendly design with a removable belt clip; and useful features such as an FM radio and Rhapsody DNA integration. The player also includes support for a wide variety of audio file types, including OGG and FLAC. All of this comes at an incredible value, since the player is very inexpensive and easy to use.
The bad: FM radio reception isn't great and connection of the Clip with Rhapsody was problematic.
The bottom line: The SanDisk Sansa Clip is an incredible value that's set to edge out the competition with a user-friendly interface, gym-worthy design, and great sound quality.
