>> Hi, I'm Justin Yu, Assistant Editor for CNET.com. Here today with the SanDisk Cruzer Titanium Plus flash drive. It looks the same as last year's model with a similar titanium finish. The key can actually retract into the body like this and there's a ring here that you can attach to your keychain. The main difference here is that with the drive, you get a free 6-month subscription to the BeInSync software, which means that you can have automated backups every time you plug the drive into your computer. All you have to do is enter in a username and password and all of your data is uploaded to the BeInSync server and you can access at anytime on the web. It's a pretty useful service, but you only get 6 months free with the purchase of the drive. If you wanna continue the service after that, it's $30 per year, which is actually kind of a lot of money when you consider the base price. It's $40 for 4-gigabytes. Compared to other drives that are $50 for 8-gigabytes, you're paying a pretty good premium for the service. Overall we do like the hardware design and the BeInSync software edition is pretty convenient, but it comes at a pretty high price. There are other drives available for cheaper that offer more gigabytes. This is Justin Yu and this is the SanDisk Cruzer Titanium Plus USB drive. ^M00:01:08 [ Music ]

SanDisk Cruzer Titanium Plus (4GB) Review

The good: Free six-month online backup subscription; fast transfer speeds; sturdy metal casing; innovative features; excellent warranty service.

The bad: Expensive; backup software only works with Windows.

The bottom line: SanDisk Cruzer Titanium Plus boasts an innovative set of features, fast data transfers, and a complimentary six-month online backup subscription, but we're put off by the subsequent annual service fee and the expensive retail price, especially when other drives at equal capacity cost much less.
