>> Hi. This is Eric Franklin from CNET.com and today, I wanna give you a true first look at the Samsung SyncMaster 2693HM. Let me try something different and give you a true out-of -the-box experience and we haven't even opened the box. So, it should be pretty exciting. Let's take a look. ^M00:00:20 [ Music ] ^M00:00:43
>> First off, what we notice is that the rotation is 360 degrees which is something I haven't seen yet in a display. Well actually, a light cover display looks from the back with the Samsung logo on the back, then it also pivots 90 degrees like so. The display actually tilts back about 30 or 35 degrees. It's like the height is adjustable by a couple of inches. The foot stand seems to be pretty stable. It doesn't wobble too much when you push it around. It's on this Lazy Susan kinda rotation base here. The bezel is kinda glossy and already attracting many, many, many fingerprints. Okay. I notice that there is an HTMi in, DVI in, and a VGA port labeled RGBn, Audio in and Audio out. All right. Now, that I've actually got the monitor turned on, we see that the OSD -- actually, there are no OSD buttons, just this like kinda touch sensitive panel here. We're actually gonna check it out for the first time right now. Let's see. We have some typical OSD functions here, Brightness, Contrast, some color stuff. We don't see any presets though so far but there could be in there. It could be hidden in there somewhere. What we know is when we're trying to watch a trailer to the Watchman is that the screen kept blacking out. We're not really sure what feature this is. It's some kind of a movie-watching feature or something like that, but we're gonna get back to you when we do the full review. Once again, I'm Eric Franklin and I hope you enjoyed this out-of -the-box first look at the Samsung SyncMaster 2693HM. For more details, check out the review which should be coming in a couple of weeks. [ Music ]
