>> Hi I'm Kent German, senior editor here at CNET.com. Today we are going to take a first look at the Samsung Sync, also called the Samsung SGH A707; it's a new phone for Cingular service. This phone came out the same time Cingular announced its new Cingular music service, that's a new way to download music. You don't actually download it from Cingular yourself, rather you download it from partners like Napster to go or Yahoo music, but the Samsung sync is really the first phone to offer this Cingular music service. From the outside it doesn't look too exciting, kind of a basic beside, it's sort of a normal black color, a little bit of a boxy shape but the phone does hold some surprises, definitely. Here you can see an external display, kind of small I thought for the phone size, but it does show all the information you need and it does function as a viewfinder for the camera which is right up here. Camera doesn't come with a lens but it is a two mega pixel camera with a lot of great features. Here you can see some external music controls like a lot of other music phones, you can activate the player, a fast-forward or rewind songs without opening the phone itself. Here on this side you have a volume rocker, a port for the charger and the headset jack and then here we have the button for launching a few applications. If you press it once, you do see that it comes up with a list, you can then scroll down to activate the camera, the music player or the ringer profile menu all while the phone is closed. Inside the phone, really liked the internal display, very bright and colorful, really large as well, 2.25 inches diagonally but weren't the phone factors nice, I liked this phone, wasn't just another flip phone, I had a little bit of a meat to it, a little bit weighty in the hand, a good solid feel. Music player is a bit basic, it doesn't show a whole lot and doesn't have a whole lot of features, but it is a great way to go to Cingular music. I'm Kent German and this is the Samsung Sync SGH A707. ^M00:01:42 [ Music ]
