>> Hi I'm Kent German, senior editor here at CNET.com. Today we'll take a first look at the Samsung SGHA747. This is a new phone for AT and T service. This is a 3G phone so it works with AT and T's 3G services, also handles AT and T music. It is also one of the first phones to have AT and T's music downloading service. Samsung's of course big into the slim designs. Doesn't look a whole lot different from other Samsung flip phones we've seen. Has a rotating camera lens up here, so that rotates from the front, and then rotates to the back so you can take pictures away from you, or take some portraits as well, so there's no need for a self portrait mirror. Has a very nice display inside, typical Samsung. A little difficult to see in bright light. Overall shows everything you need, from graphics to photos, shows them pretty well. Keypad buttons, they are flat with the surface of the phone, which is very typical with flip phones that are thin. It did have a nice array, and since it was large, so I had no problem getting in there and manipulating around. Dialing by feel is a little difficult of course since, without any real tactile definition. But we have a toggle with an OK button in the center, and the OK button in standby mode actually opens the web browser. Really before that it opens the menu, I just get so used to that. Here on this side is a volume rocker, and on the other spine there's a micro SD card and a port for the charger and wired headset. So remember, you can only use one at a time. But if you have a Bluetooth headset that won't be much of an issue. It's got a speaker on the bottom, so like that a little better than when it's placed on the back on the phone.
