>> I'm Nicole Lee, Associate editor for cnet.com and this is the Samsung Slash from Virgin mobile. It is the first ever Samsung style to enter the Virgin mobile line up. And as you can see, it has a very large display up front here. Little bit lackluster in terms of color but it's a basic phone so that's fine with us, so slightly open, very easily. It has the navigation key pad right here, two soft keys, navigation toggle, the Talking and End keys and underneath that you do get the alphanumeric key pad. On the side, you get the volume rocker and the charger deck. On the other side, you do get the dedicated speaker key and dedicated camera key. On the back of the phone is a VGA camera lens and a self-portrait mirror. Even though we found the keys to be nice and raised above the surface of the phone, we did find a few keys like the bottom keys right here and the bottoms keys right here to be a little bit cramped when trying to dial by feel. Like with most Virgin mobile phone, the Samsung Slash is pretty basic when it comes to features. There's text and multimedia messaging. There's a very simple web browser. There's blue tooth, the speaker phone. This is a voice filing but that's much more other than that. The Samsung Slash is available for around 80 dollars with no contract required. I'm Nicole Lee and this has been the Samsung Slash for Virgin mobile.

Samsung Slash (Virgin Mobile) Review
The good: The Samsung Slash is compact and easy to use, with basic features such as Bluetooth, voice dialing, and a speakerphone. It also has good call quality.
The bad: The Samsung Slash has a few cramped buttons, a lackluster display, and a poor-quality camera.
The bottom line: The Samsung Slash is a decent entry-level phone with a few extra features that put it just above a basic handset.
