>> Hi, I'm Kent German, Senior Editor here at CNET.com. Today we're taking a first look at the Samsung SGHT219. This is the new phone for T-Mobile service phone. This is the red version. There's also a chocolate version, which is just basically brown. We're going to view the red version here. If you like red in your cell phone this might be the cell phone for you. You can see there's not a lot of red on my front here but there's quite a lot of red inside. Overall the design is pretty basic. There's no camera, not a lot of other features to muck things up, basically just a phone for making calls. External display is kind of small. It is monochrome but that's not a big deal especially when we don't have the camera phone. It shows all this necessary information, date, time everything you might need. The only thing though is when the back lighting is off it is pretty dim so you're going to want to make sure you can see it especially in direct light. Here on this side we just have a volume rocker and we have a small port for the charger and the headset. Since they share the same port just keep in mind you can't use both things at the same time. Inside pretty standard Samsung display for this type of phone, 65,000 colors, not as bright as you might see on a 262,000 color. It's fine for navigating menus, scrolling around, it's just not great for graphics or any kind of games. [unclear] the navigation keypad is pretty similar to other Samsung phones we've seen like the SGHT619. They raise just a tiny bit above the surface of the phone but they do have big numbers and they're brightly backlit. Overall the phone is very basic in its features, just has a speakerphone and instant messaging and those are the real top highlights. We did try the call quality, didn't find it the greatest. So you definitely want to test this phone first. I'm Kent German and this is the Samsung SGHT219. ^M00:01:34 [ Music ]
