>> Hi, I'm Kent German, Senior Editor here at CNET.com. Today we're taking a First Look at the Samsung SGH-A237. This is a new phone for AT&T service. This is a low-end camera phone. Does has a VGA camera, has Bluetooth though, and a few basic features. Not a phone for someone that needs a lot of functionality. We did like the design overall, it's a flip phone, but has a nice curvy shape to it. It does come in red and blue, but the features are the same between the two models. The external display is a little small, but it does show all the information you need. Open up the phone, you do have a pretty nice display, pretty bright and colorful, but not the most high resolution out there, but definitely fine for this caliber of phone. Menu system is simple and easy to use based on the standard Samsung design. The keypad buttons and controls were fine. We also were able to dial and text quickly. Overall, not a bad phone as far as design and feature go. Samsung puts out a lot of these phones that put out a lot of this mid to low range camera phone. So there's not a lot to distinguish themselves from each other. If you are looking for a phone just to makes calls with AT&T, this isn't a bad buy, but I definitely would shop around to see what else is there, as well. I'm Kent German, and this is the Samsung SGH-A237. ^M00:01:07 [ Music ]
