>> Hi I'm Kent German, Senior Editor here at CNET.com. Today we're going to take a First Look at the Samsung SCH-U410; it's a new phone from Verizon Wireless service. Samsung's made a lot of phones these days pumping them out really quickly. I can say that this phone looks a lot different from other Samsung phones we've seen. It looks a lot like the Samsung SCH-U340 which is also for Verizon. So it just has a really sort of plain shape, it has a simple flip-phone design that has pretty average dimensions, not too big but not really too small either. Inside, pretty average display, it's easy 5,000 colors so it's not the greatest resolution, nice navigation controls actually; I like the circular toggle , OK button in the center, you can set that as a shortcut to various functions as well, a couple of soft keys, talk and end clear and the clear. Keypad buttons are raised just above the surface of the phone, just ever so slightly so down by feel wasn't a problem. I liked the keys which are pretty big, the numbers are pretty big and there's a bright backlighting as well. So pretty user-friendly phone definitely but like I said it's not very attractive. Inside there are some good features, a speaker phone, it does have Bluetooth but that is really about it but it is nice to see the Bluetooth especially on such kind of a basic phone. Call quality was okay it wasn't the best Verizon I've heard, I felt that the sound could have been a little sharper also the speakerphone was pretty unusable unless you were close to the phone. Overall though good phone for occasional callers but if you're going to be using the phone a lot it probably isn't the best one for you. I'm Kent German and this is the Samsung SCH-U410. ^M00:01:22 [ Music ] ^M00:01:25
