>> Hi, I'm Kent German senior editor here at CNET.com today we're going to take a first look at the Samsung Wafer also called the SCH R510. This is a new phone for Alltel service. If you're into Samsung thin phones, you'll notice that the wafer looks a lot like a couple earlier models from the manufacturer the SGHX 820, the Samsung Trace also the T519 for T Mobile. Has almost exactly the same form factor it's a tiny, tiny bit smaller than the X820 and it actually has a little bit of a different color than either of the previous models it's a dark blue, but looks pretty much the same. Has the same thin profile with the bump here, which has the camera lens. Same display little bit of redesigning keypad though. The toggle has a nice circular design actually it's recessed just the slightest bit below the surface of the phone and has a little bit of a tactile feel. Keypad buttons are also a little scrunched and there is no clear definition between the individual buttons on the rows. But otherwise, it's not too bad. Just keep in mind that they are completely flat so dialing by feel is a little difficult. Here in the back as I said you do have the camera lens there is no self portrait mirror flash. There is a micro SD slot on this phone, but it is located behind the battery cover. You have to take it off like that and you can see right here. You actually have to take out the battery as well, which isn't the most ideal arrangement for swapping in cards. Overall, it has a pretty respectable feature set, 1.3 mega pixel camera, Bluetooth, speaker phone, and E video support. But really, this is a phone that's all about design with that thin profile.
