Samsung Mythic SGH-A897 (AT&T) Video Transcript

>> I'm Nicole Lee Associate Editor for cnet.com and this is a First Look at the Samsung Mythic for AT&T. It is a Touchscreen phone from Samsung and it has a very nice three-inch color display on the front here. On the side of the display you do get the very familiar touch widget tray. You can drag and drop widgets from the tray to the home screen. The Mythic has three home screens which you can customize with the widgets. At the bottom of the home screen you do get shortcuts to the phone dialer, the contacts list and the main menu. You also get multiple mini pages which you can customize by adding or moving applications by tapping the little icon on the top here. At the bottom of the main menu screen, the menu shortcut changes to a new text message shortcut instead. Underneath the display are three physical keys that correspond to the talk key, the back or clear key and the end power key. On the back is a 3.2 megapixel camera with LED flash. The Mythic does have an internal accelerometer so when you're in the messaging application for example when you tilt the phone sideways you'll reveal the full QWERTY keyboard for messaging. Other methods for text input include the virtual T9 keypad as well as handwriting definition. One of the big features of the phone is AT&T mobile TV that's AT&T's live TV service that goes over Qualcomm's media flow network. Other features of the phone include the aforementioned 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus. There's also a music player with AT&T music support. There's also GPS, a full HTML browser based on opera mobile, mobile e-mail messaging, as well as 3G and Quad band support. This gives access to AT&T mobile video as well as AT&T video share. The Samsung Mythic is available for around $200. I'm Nicole Lee and this is has been a First Look at the Samsung Mythic.
