>> [Background music ] I'm Nicole Lee, Associate Editor for CNET.com and here is a first look at the Samsung Messenger from MetroPCS. The Samsung Messenger is a texting or messaging phone similar in style to the Samsung Rant or Samsung Gravity. It looks like a candy bar from the front but it has a slide out QWERTY keyboard on the side. It has a nice 2.1 inch display and easy to use navigation array and text/tel keys. There is a dedicated messaging key plus two soft keys at the bottom of the keyboard as well, plus a media player key. If you press it once the music player will launch. If you hold it down the camera will launch. On the back of the phone is a 1.3 megapixel camera with a self portrait mirror. There is also a microSD card slot but you have to remove the battery cover to access it. Features of the phone are pretty simple. There is the aforementioned music player and 1.3 megapixel camera; there is a wireless web browser, stereo Bluetooth and the typical texting, multimedia messaging, speakerphone and so forth. The Samsung Messenger is available now for $199. [Background music] Which may seem like a lot but bear in mind MetroPCS does not require a contract. I'm Lacoli. This has been the Samsung Messenger from MetroPCS. [ Music ] ^M00:01:10
