>> Nicole: The Samsung Memoir is currently the highest resolution camera phone for the U.S. market with a whopping 8 megapixel camera and here's a first look at it. Hi, I'm Nicole Lee, Associate Editor for CNET.com. The Samsung Memoir has a full touch-screen interface similar to [inaudible] like the Samsung Innovate and the Samsung Behold it has haptic feedback to let you know when your touch is registered. It uses Samsung's proprietary TouchWiz interface, there's a tray located on the left side of various applications such as the clock, music player and so on. You can then drag and drop these widgets to the main screen so they're easily accessible to you every time you fire up your phone. Once you've customized the phone to your liking you can collapse and hide the tray by tapping the arrow button. The interface can be a little finicky with we had problems with trying to scroll without launching things accidentally. Also you're limited to the preloaded widgets. The Samsung Memoir walks a thin line between phone and camera on the back of the phone is the 8 megapixel camera lens and it looks a lot like a camera from the back. Not only does it take really great photos it has a feature set similar to stand-alone cameras there's a Xenon flash, 16 times zoom, seamless auto-focus, face and smile detection, GeoTagging and more. Once you're done snapping photos you're able to upload those photos directly to online sharing sites such as Flicker, Kodak Gallery, Photobucket, and Snapfish. There's also a camcorder built right in. Other features of the Memoir include a full HTML web browser, 3G support, assisted GPS and on-screen QWERTY keyboard. It has an internal accelerometer so you can view pages in both landscape and portrait mode. The Samsung Memoir will be available starting February 25th for $249.99 with a 2 year contract and after a $50.00 mail-in rebate. I'm Nicole Lee this has been the Samsung Memoir from T-Mobile. ^E00:01:58
