Hello I'm Luke Westaway at CNET, here at CES 2013. Hanging out at the Samsung stand with the company's new OLED TV. Okay, this is a 55-inch OLED television. Samsung says its OLED technology is better than its rivals because it's using red, green, blue OLED instead of the color white OLED technology you'd find on, for example, LG's televisions. It's hard to make a definitive verdict on picture quality without putting it through a rigorous review tests. Well, I can say the first impressions are extremely positive. OLED technology looks fantastic, it's currently a display technology that's more popular on smart phones. But when you blow it up to this kind of scale, you just get this really, really deep blacks and this really vivid colors. It looks like a fantastic television. There's 3D onboard of course as well. Its active-shutter, which has been Samsung's kinda a 3D technology of choice rather than passive. So that means you will have to pay a little bit more for spectacles, if you want extra people to view the screen. The best news of all however, is that this TV is actually going to be in shops unlike of the other mystical OLED TVs that we've seen in just in concept stages for example. There is no pricing information but you better start saving because it's gonna be an astronomically expensive, I expect. But it is coming out this year. I'm Luke Westaway for CNET, CES2013, and this is Samsung's new OLED TV.
Samsung's flagship F8000 LED TV promises the company's best picture quality yet.
At CES 2010, Brian Tong takes a look at the LG LE 9500 Series televisions.
The Samsung SyncMaster 940BF delivers a clear, vivid picture for games and DVDs, but overall we found it average; other monitors offer more adjustability and features and better performance for less.
The Samsung LND550's mix of features, style and picture quality stands tall among the tough entry-level LCD TV crowd.
With picture quality that's nearly the equal of the tough competition, as well as best-in-class design and features, the Samsung PND8000 makes a strong case the best overall plasma TV of 2011.
The Samsung UND8000 TV delivers best-in-class looks and features, but its picture quality--thanks to uneven screen uniformity--is ultimately a step backward from many less expensive models.
Beyond the uninspired plastic body, the HTC Vivid packs in a whole lot of premium features for just $200.
The Samsung ES6500 is a competent television with good color response but it's not quite to the same level as the competition.
The HP Pavilion Elite m9500y in its current configuration offers a speedy processor, plenty of memory and storage, and even includes Wi-Fi.
The LG PS80 plasma TV series is the company's second generation of plasma televisions featuring THX video quality and online video capabilities.
