>> I'm Nicole Lee, associate editor for CNET.com and this is the Jitterbug Dial. A new cell phone from a new MBNO called grey call and it is a service made specifically for senior citizens or our elderly. As you can see it's pretty nice and kind of balky but you know it feels great in your hand, very rounded and smooth digits. On the front here is an external screen for date and time and caller ID. On here is the volume rocker and open it out and the first thing you'll notice, you can hear a dial tone, this makes this ideal for senior citizens who want to use a cell phone that's more like a regular land line phone. As you can see it has a very nice big screen, huge fonts and the first thing you will notice is they ask you do you want to use the voice dial. Just with that you know you can just scroll through the contact list, simple yes or no questions, there is really basically no call to call menu navigation, it just uses yes or no questions. The dial also has a very soft rubber cushion here for your ear; this is especially good because it feels really comfortable and all so it's built to accommodate hearing aids. On the keypad here you see the on and off button, yes and no arrow for navigation and very nice, large easy to read, easy to see, easy to press even numerical keypad here. The jitterbug dial comes with a great call services I mentioned, one of the good things about the jitterbug dial is that it comes with great call service. So you can call the operator, you can make calls through the operator, you can change your contacts list through your operator, it's very much a hand holding service to get your senior citizen in your life, your elderly in your life to get to use a cell phone. My name is Nicole Lee and this has been the Jitterbug Dial. ^M00:01:52 [ Music ]

Samsung Jitterbug Dial - SPH-A120 (Great Call) Review

Editors' rating

The good: The Jitterbug Dial is very user-friendly, with a bright display, large and tactile keypad, and many of the same characteristics as a landline cordless phone. You can have the phone pre-installed with contacts, and if you want, you can use the operator to place a call. The phone also has a speakerphone.

The bad: The Jitterbug Dial is rather bulky. The volume rocker is in an awkward position. Voice dialing sometimes takes a few tries before it works.

The bottom line: The Jitterbug Dial is the perfect phone for the elderly or those with poor eyesight.
