>> Bonnie Cha: Hi, I'm Bonnie Cha Senior Editor at CNET.com and we are here in San Diego for CTIA Fall and I have a first look here of the Samsung Intrepid for Sprint. This was announced and the show and it will be available October 11th for 149.99. Kind of a business oriented device. Nice and slim, a little bit wider but its fine. The good thing is it has a touch screen so you can check out Windows Mobile 5 and the new start menu and the today screen. Below here you've got a full QWERTY keyboard. Not really feeling the keyboard and the buttons here they feel really plasticy and cheap even though the buttons are good size but it just feels a little bit cheap to me. But otherwise features we've got Wi-Fi, Bluetooth. It is a global phone so you can take it overseas and make phone calls and receive data and the good thing is Sprint has unlocked the SIM so you can put in international SIM card from like [inaudible] or orange or some other carrier. On back here it's got a 3.2 megapixel camera, also has video capabilities and the good news it has a 3.5 mm headphone jack so you can plug in your favorite headphones and listen to music as well. Overall a really good deal but we'll check it out when we get it in for review to see how it performs and again you know pretty good design but not really feeling the keyboard but otherwise nice business class device. Samsung Intrepid (Sprint) Review
The good: The Samsung Intrepid ships with Windows Mobile 6.5 and includes Microsoft's Tellme voice-activated service. The world phone features a touch screen, an easy-to-use QWERTY keyboard, and upgraded camera. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and 3G are all onboard.
The bad: Keyboard feels a bit cheap. The smartphone has a lower resolution screen than competitors.
The bottom line: While not the flashiest smartphone on the block, the Samsung Intrepid offers Sprint customers an affordable and solid messaging world phone.
