Samsung Instinct S30 Video Transcript

>> Kent: Hi I'm Kent German, Senior Editor at CNET.com; I'm here at CTIA 2009 in Las Vegas just finished a special Samsung precedent and want to show you one of the new phones that they introduced; this is the Samsung Instinct S30, now this is an update to the Instinct the original Instinct actually, the Instinct that was debuted in Las Vegas at CTIA almost a year ago exactly. So it has a few feature and design upgrades not a whole lot that's improved but just a couple things that are worth mentioning. Design is almost the same the edges are a little bit rounder, it's a little more curved in some areas, seems a little thinner as well I can't remember exactly how big the original Instinct was but it seems just a little nicer in the hand a little more aerodynamic. The display is also a little larger and it has a lot of the same interface that you'd see on the original Instinct, has those tiles that you can move around, you can add to, has the same QWERTY keyboard, virtual keyboard, virtual dial-pad so interface is very, very similar. A few things features [inaudible] does add is it does have integrated Outlook Calendar Syncing so out of the box, instant messaging. Before the original Instinct wasn't introduced with Outlook Calendar Syncing you had to add it later. Has a 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth music player, it is a Sprint phone, of course, so it has EVDO and you'll get the Sprint Music Store, you'll get Power Vision, you'll get Sprint TV, has GPS, personal organizer, so really all those hot mid-range to high-end multimedia options you'd expect from a Sprint EVDO phone. One thing that's interesting too about this phone is that it is a bit more open to developers than the original Instinct, don't know a lot about what will be available but developers will be able to access some of the phone's Java so things like messaging, Bluetooth, write some applications Sprint is doing and API as well for this phone so it might be interesting to see what comes up. But this is an update to the original Instinct it is going on sale April 17th for $129.00 with a contract, it will require the Sprint Everything Plan which is $99.00 per month but that's unlimited data, texting, messaging, email. I'm Kent German and this is the Samsung Instinct S30. ^M00:02:01 [ Music ]
