>> Hi, Kent German, senior editor here at CNET.com. Today we're gonna take a first look at the Samsung Q2. This is also called the SCHR600. This is a new phone for all teleservice. This is an update to the original Samsung Hue. It looks a lot different though. This is a bit more traditional design. You see that this squares external display with a band of colors that goes around here and continues on the back. On the outside, I found the external display a little bit small. There is a mirrored face around here, catches a lot of finger prints, this is small issue though. This face plate and the back battery cover do come off. You can replace it with different colors. Inside, you can see a pretty nice display. It's very bright, vibrant colorful key pad and controls. They do show a lot of differences from the original Hue and that's a great thing with an easier dialing situation, texting as well. Navigation array is pretty spacious. Overall, the phone has decent array of features, has a music player, very basic, really, really, really basic but gets the job done for listening to music. Nice, solid midrange phone. Though it lacks a couple of needed features, the LG Scoop is a solid messaging cell phone for Alltel.
Samsung Hue II SCH-R600 (Alltel) Review
The good: The Samsung Hue II offers a very usable design, with a vibrant display and improved controls. Features include a music player and Bluetooth. The call quality is admirable.
The bad: The Samsung Hue II's hinge is somewhat loose and the external display is small.
The bottom line: The Samsung Hue II is a very solid midrange cell phone for Alltel service.
