>> Mathew: Hi, I'm Mathew Maskoviac [assumed spelling], Senior Associate Editor at CNET.com and we're here with the Samsung HTBD1250; this is a 5.1 home theater system from Samsung with a built-in Blu-Ray player and street price of about $500. Now, the system is made up of these 4 identical speakers which serve as the front end surround speakers, there's a tiny center channel, a sub-woofer and the main unit. Now, although the speaker system is pretty small overall we're actually really impressed with the sound quality. The interplay between the sub-woofer and the speakers was outstanding for an all-in-one system and it even handled stereo music with finesse which is something we rarely say about a home theater in a box system. Now, while the main receiver Blu-Ray player combo unit looks pretty slick. We did have a couple quibbles about the usability of it. There are some top-mounted touch sensitive controls but you're gonna have to lean over the system to see what you're actually pressing. There's also a spinnable wheel for volume on the top but that makes it harder to stack components on top of the unit like a cable box or a game console. Now, the built-in Blu-Ray player offers essentially the same functionality as Samsung's stand-alone Blu-Ray players that's means you're gonna get excellent image quality on Blu-Ray movies and you also get streaming content from Netflix and Pandora. If you look around back you ll see the connectivity and you'll notice there are no video inputs. Now, that's standard at this price level for home theater in a box systems but it does mean that you're gonna have to make a separate connection to the Samsung unit and your TV and you'll have to fumble with 2 remotes to get everything working. In all when you put together the Samsung's best in class audio quality, excellent image quality and streaming content from Netflix and Pandora that's why we found that this is the best Blu-Ray home theater system on a budget. I'm Mathew Maskoviac, Senior Associate Editor from CNET.com and this is the Samsung HTBD1250. ^M00:01:58 [ Music ]

Samsung HT-BD1250 Review
The good: 5.1 home theater system; built-in Blu-ray player; best-in-class sound quality; excellent image quality on Blu-ray movies; Netflix and Pandora streaming; fast Blu-ray load times; iPod dock included; attractive exterior design.
The bad: Design has some usability issues; no video inputs; no automatic speaker calibration; PC streaming feature is more trouble than it's worth.
The bottom line: Samsung's HT-BD1250 home theater system has built-in Blu-ray, streaming media from Netflix and Pandora, and excellent audio and video quality, making it our top budget Blu-ray all-in-one system.
