>> Nicole Lee: I'm Nicole Lee, Senior Associate Editor for CNET.com, and this is a "First Look" at the Samsung Gravity T for T-Mobile. The T in the Samsung Gravity T represents the touchscreen of the phone. It is the very first Samsung Gravity phone to have a touchscreen. On the front here, you can see it has up to three customizable home screens that you can customize with any of the widgets from the touch [inaudible] widgetry on the side here. At the bottom row of the home screen are shortcuts to the phone dialer, the contacts list, and the messaging inbox as well as the web browser. In addition to the touch [inaudible] interface, the Samsung Gravity T also has a command bar. You activate the command bar by sliding the phone open. The command bar consists of up to five customizable shortcuts when the phone is open in landscape mode. The Gravity T also is smart unlock feature that lets you unlock certain features of the phone with finger gestures. The phone also has a motion sensor that gives it an option for an etiquette pause. That means that when you get an incoming call, you can quickly silence the call by turning the phone over. Features of the phone include a two megapixel camera and camcorder. You also get a music player, GPS with telenav support. You also get Google Maps on here as well as a YouTube application. There's also stereo Bluetooth and a full HTML web browser. You also get texting and multi-media messaging with e-mail and exchange e-mail support. [music] The Samsung Gravity T is available for $75 when you two-year service agreement from T-Mobile. The Samsung Restore is a great eco-friendly option if you want a full-featured multimedia messaging phone on Sprint.
The Samsung Gravity 2 is more than just a normal messaging phone. It has GPS, 3G, and a HTML browser all for about $30 from T-Mobile.

The good: The Samsung Gravity T is good-looking touch-screen messaging phone with nice interface elements like TouchWiz widgets, a Command bar of shortcuts, an etiquette pause, and more. It has a decent set of multimedia features, 3G, and great call quality.
The bad: The Samsung Gravity T's keyboard is a bit flatter than we would like.
The bottom line: The Samsung Gravity T is overall a great messaging phone option for those who want a full touch-screen experience combined with a simple yet functional multimedia feature set.
