>> I'm Nicole Lee, associate editor for CNET.com, and this is a First Look at the Samsung Gloss from US Cellular. As you can see here, it has a very adorable square-shaped design here. On the front here is a camera lens and underneath that is a 1.1-inch external display. Open it up, and you get a very nice 2.2-inch display here, plus a full QWERTY keyboard. You get the typical two soft keys, as well as a four-way navigation toggle here. The keyboard is pretty spacious. The keys are raised above the surface, so it's really easy to quickly type out a text message. Features of the Samsung Gloss include Bluetooth, a wireless web browser, GPS functionality, email, and the afore mentioned 1.3 megapixel camera. There's no camcorder here, however. The good: The Samsung Gloss is compact and lightweight with a nice display and a great QWERTY keyboard.
The bad: The Samsung Gloss doesn't have a very good camera or music player.
The bottom line: If you're not looking for a lot of features, the Samsung Gloss is a nice and compact messaging phone for U.S. Cellular customers.
