Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2, 3.6 Video Transcript
This is the Samsung Galaxy Player in two versions. There is 4.2 inch version and the 3.6 inch version as well. Now these are two wifi only devices before we saw them in (??) Congress on February then we're seeing them another announce here for the US. Now the smaller version is already available in Best Buy for $150 and this larger version the 42 inch will be available on May 13 for about $200. Now the versions are mostly the same this the successor to the previous Samsung Galaxy Player in 4 inch and 5 inch versions. There are some differences especially with this larger more high and 4.2 inch version, the speaker goes in the front so that when you're listening to audio the sound doesn't get muffled with the speaker (??) in the back when you put it down. Also there are some full games preloaded on here. There is a (??) scope inside so you will be able to play those games and also (??), would be much more satisfying experience than before and in addition there is bluetooth 3.0 on here so if you've got another bluetooth 3.0 device you will be able to stream music from the player to that device otherwise it operates a lot like the phone without a phone almost like the Android answer to the iPad it's running the Android 2.3 ginger bread operating system. You'll notice that screen on the larger version 4.2 inch version here is much clearer than smaller version the 3.6 because the larger version has a WVGA resolution. The small version has HVGA resolution. It's pretty noticeable when you hold them up side by side. It's got a 2 megapixel camera on the back a VGA front facing camera and basically a lot of the different apps that you would expect in Smartphone but of course there is no cellular connection so it's not a Smartphone but you will be able to connect it to wifi and to use a lot of the apps on here. So this is your first look at the Samsung Galaxy Players and 4.2 and 3.6 for CNET. I'm Jessica Dolcourt.

Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 (black) Review
The good: The Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 offers most of the capabilities of Samsung's popular Android smartphones, minus the phone and monthly fees.
The bad: Both the software and the processor are relatively old by smartphone standards. Parents should know there are no safeguards included to restrict access to age-inappropriate content.
The bottom line: When it comes to competing with Apple's iPod Touch media player, the Galaxy Player 4.2 is Samsung's best effort yet, but it's still playing catch-up.
