Samsung Galaxy Beam Video Transcript

Hi, everyone. I'm Jessica Dolcourt for CNET here at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona where I'm taking a look at the lovely Samsung Galaxy Beam. The phone was (tested?) and was really interesting about it, looks like your basic Galaxy phone however, up at the top, there's actually a pico projector on here. So it's a small projector and actually it's quite bright, capable of (issuing forth?) 15 lumens or brightness. As for the rest of the phone, you got a 4-inch screen here, 5 megapixel camera on the back, 1.3 megapixel camera on the front and it is a 1 gigahertz dual core processor. So we gotta look at this yesterday in a dark room. Apparently it's too bright here to really check it out but it does look pretty good. So it was an exciting phone that we said hopefully be hearing about. It's being released somewhere in the April to June time frame. I'm Jessica Dolcourt for CNET. This is the Samsung Galaxy Beam

Samsung Galaxy Beam (unlocked) Review

The good: The Samsung Galaxy Beam comes with an integrated pico projector, a dual-core processor, 720p video capture, and a 4-inch Super AMOLED screen.

The bad: The Galaxy Beam's projection software needs some work, the 5-megapixel camera sometimes blurs indoor shots, and the build is thicker and heavier than many of today's phones.

The bottom line: Despite weak software, the Samsung Galaxy Beam's bright projector pushes boundaries, and strong smartphone features make it a worthy standalone device.
