Samsung Galaxy Appeal is AT&T's new prepaid slider Video Transcript

I'm -- -- -- for cnet.com this is your first like at the Samsung galaxy appeal. Now this is an eighteen T group -- -- prepaid phone. One of the interesting things about it is it is a texting phone with a keyboard right here. On keyboard is spacious and -- which is great but I'm personally wasn't -- constable for my fingers. When I started. Composing longer messages. I felt like. Or -- it stop. There is definitely. A virtual keyboard on -- -- couple differences -- swipe a standard keyboard -- there's the Samsung keyboard as well. On screen sizes through -- -- 3.2 inches which makes it compact. I'm just that basic screen here the specs are pretty modest there's -- 3.2 megapixel camera on the back. There's an 800 megahertz prophets are running the show. It is three G. It's also powered by -- 2.3 gingerbread. So it may not be -- -- Apple -- -- four point oh Ice Cream Sandwich. One thing I noticed about the camera which has no flash and no auto focus is that you can't get -- pretty good shot out of it. If you get really lucky in that the focus yourself also there's an abundance of natural light he might just end up with some pretty bad that is as well. The galaxy appeals gonna cost 248 dollars -- 88 cents. On June 5 at Wal-Mart and will cost 24999. At AT and -- stores on June 15. I don't think about where for CNN this -- the Samsung galaxy appeal and he kind of.

Samsung Galaxy Appeal (AT&T) Review

The good: The Samsung Galaxy Appeal has Android 2.3 Gingerbread's smartphone features and a comfortable backing. It won't bust a bank account.

The bad: The Galaxy Appeal's small screen is hard to read, its lower-res camera lacks a flash, and I didn't love the keyboard. Its slower 3G data speeds may frustrate some.

The bottom line: The Samsung Galaxy Appeal delivers basic Android 2.3 functionality with a slide-out keyboard and wallet-friendly price, but there are performance and design trade-offs.
