>> Hi I'm David Katzmaier, Senior Editor from CNET.com. I'm with the Samsung FPT 5084. This is a 50 inch flat panel plasma TV. Samsung's best 50 inch model this year because it has 1080p resolution. This set I really like the style on it. It's got a nice thin border around the edge, relatively thin and that border itself is a glossy black. It's very nice and attractive. It's actually a little bit wider looking than it is tall due to these hidden speakers on the side. There's actually a pair of chrome accents on the side of the speakers. There are tiny slits hidden on either side of those. It's a really slick design complemented by this kind of touch pad of controls on the front here. The stand is a built in. it's a swivel stand. Of course you could remove it if you want to hang it on the wall, matching glossy finish on that stand. In terms of features you would expect from a high end TV this set pretty much has it all. There is plenty of ways to adjust the picture including color temperature controls. You can go in and tweak the color temperature. You can also play with gamma and a host of other picture controls. Round back you'll find a solid selection of inputs 2 HDMI, 2 component video, 1 PC input and the side panel also has a third HDMI input, so there is plenty of things you can plug into this television. Picture quality of the Samsung is among the best 50 inch plasmas we have seen this year delivered a very nice deep black level but the color accuracy was also very good, owing a lot to that color control that we mentioned earlier. On the downside its doesn't have the best glare reducing screen we've seen and there was a little bit of false contouring which appears as not smooth gradations between light and dark with some visible contours. Aside from that though a very good performing Plasma TV. That's a quick look at the Samsung FPT 5084 and I'm David Katzmaier. ^M00:01:41 [ Music ]
