>> Hi I'm Kent German, Senior Editor at CNET.com. I'm here at CTIA 2009 in Las Vegas. I'm at the Samsung booth and I want to show you the Samsung Finesse. This is a phone they announced a couple of days before CTIA began. But it's pretty remarkable, because it is the first touch screen phone for MetroPCS. For much of its life MetroPCS has been very into low end phones just for making calls, sending messages. Recently they did have their first BlackBerry smart phone with the Curve, and now they're getting a touch screen phone. Not a strict smart phone. It has Samsung's operating system on it. But a little like the Samsung Delve that we saw for Alltel, and similar phones that came out with T-Mobile. But overall pretty standard candy bar design, large touch screen on the front, dominates most of that space. Down below we have three physical controls, there's a talk button, end button, and a back key. Have a control, dedicated controls down here. They are touch control, so they will open the dialer, contacts, messages, main menu. It is a Samsung TouchWIZ phone, so that, of course, is Samsungs custom mobile UI, where you can go and you can take all these widgets, move them around at will. You only get a set number, so you can't create your own, but these widgets will open certain applications. And if you want to maximize them you can just drag them right out to the screen like that, and you can see you have the calendar, for instance. To move it back just take it to drop it back again. Phone does have a number of ways for entering information. You can use an onscreen graffiti application. It does have a virtual keyboard. And it has an on, a virtual dialer as well, so a number of ways to get in there. It does have a 2 mega pixel camera. It has a full HTML browser. Has a music player. So, really some features we've never seen on MetroPCS before. And of course, that touch screen, one thing that's good about it is it's pretty large. I like to think of 3 inches is the minimum for a, a good touch screen. iPhone 3.5 that's the biggest we can see. But a 3.2 is pretty good, which is what this is. So I have to say I like it overall. Pretty simple on the sides, it is thin though. Has a micro SD slot. Has a dedicated camera button and voice dialing. And the camera lens is here on the back along the self-portrait mirror.
