>> Nicole Lee: I'm Nicole Lee associate editor for CNET.com and this is a first look at the Samsung Finesse from MetroPCS. This is the first ever touch screen phone from MetroPCS. As you can see on the front here is a very nice 3.2 inch touch screen display. It features Samsungs well known TouchWiz interface which is a expandable tray and drag-and-drop widgets. The widgets range from the clock, the calendar, as well as a music player application. On the bottom row here you also get shortcuts to the phone dialer, the contacts list, the messaging inbox as well as the main menu interface. On the top here is a collapsible shortcut bar that leads to the messaging interface, the browser, the music application as well as the Bluetooth toggle. Of course because the Finesse is a touch screen phone all of the navigation has to be done via the touch screen display here. So there is a virtual number key pad. There is also a full QWERTY keyboard for text messaging. The touch screen interface itself is very easy to use, very intuitive, especially with the hepatic vibration feed back to let you know when the touch is registered. Features of the Finesse include the 2.0 megapixel camera, a music player, EVDO speeds, full HTML browser, stereo Bluetooth as well as GPS. However, there is no Wi-Fi and no accelerometer. The Samsung Finesse is $350 from MetroPCS. That may sound like a lot but remember that MetroPCS does not require a contract.
