Samsung Exclaim SPH-M550 Video Transcript
>> Hi I'm Kent German, Senior Editor here at cnet.com and we're going to take a First Look at the Samsung Exclaim, also called the SPHM-550, this is a phone for Sprint. Of course it is a dual-sided phone so it tends to be a little large. This phone is no exception. It does have a nice display that is the good consequence of having a large phone, pretty sizable. It does have Sprint's one-click interface below that gives you one touch access to lots of features. You can customize or you can add new features as you want, take some away so it's a nice touch; not on all Sprint phones but I do like it overall. Inside the menu interface, it's very easy to navigate; it's icon based so you can get into things easily, you don't have to scroll through too many menus to find what you want. Navigation controls are well-designed, large size makes them easy to use. Slide up the phone to reveal that alphanumeric keypad; the keys are also pretty large and they have a bright backlighting so pretty easy to use. Slide that down, turn the phone on its side and you can slide it up again to get the full QWERTY keypad. Pretty nice keypad; I like it better than some of the other Sprint phones out there like the LG Rumor 2 or the Samsung Rance [assumed spelling]. Keypad is pretty spacious, the number keys do show space than some of the letter keys, but that's pretty common on keyboards so it didn't really matter. Overall a pretty easy to use keyboard, definitely like to do a slider action. Inside features are pretty midrange; multimedia; the phone is EVDO so it gets most of Sprint's 3G multimedia services; has Bluetooth, a 2 megapixel camera, speakerphone, messaging applications, and a personal organizer. So if you really want a phone that has multimedia, offers a bit of a conversation piece design and pretty good call quality, Samsung Exclaim pretty much fits the bill. I'm Kent German and this is the Samsung Exclaim.

Samsung Exclaim SPH-M550 - raspberry (Sprint) Review
The good: The Samsung Exclaim has an accessible dual-slider design with easy-to-use navigation controls and a comfortable keyboard. It offers a media-friendly feature set and admirable call quality.
The bad: The Samsung Exclaim has a nonstandard headset jack and small menu text. The external speaker is unimpressive and the frame size of the streaming video player is tiny.
The bottom line: The Samsung Exclaim is a welcome addition to Sprint's handset line. Its dual-slider design, feature set, and good call quality more than compensate for its shortcomings.
