Samsung E450 series plasma TV is a well-rounded performer Video Transcript
-Hi. I'm Ty Pendlebury This is a review of the Samsung E450 Plasma TV. Samsung may have built its reputation with LCD, but this year it's the company's plasmas that will be standout. Almost without exception, it's 2012 range of plasmas E's excellent and this continues to the budget E450 mobile. The E450 is available in 43 inch and 51 inch sizes and both are around to $500 mark online. As expected for such a cheap price the TV is quite plain looking though certainly not ugly with its piano black skin. In addition there aren't any features to speak of and it's only 720p not 1080p. The TV does offer USB port for movie playback and to HDMI ports. For an inch-level TV this is almost just as good as the step up E550 by the saving of $300. It's [unk] performance is excellent and better than any LCD you'll find under a $1,000. Black levels are surprisingly deep and color saturation is very good even if the colors are a little warmer than the reference. If you're worried about power usage, then don't be. The TV uses only about 120 watts or about the same as an LCD. And burning isn't an issue either with quite a decent pixel orbiter in place. If you're looking to spend about $500 on the TV, don't mock around with an LCD. In fact, I don't see any reason not to get this Samsung E450. This has been Ty Pendlebury for Cnet.com

Samsung PN51E450 Review
The good: The inexpensive Samsung E450 series plasma TV is a well-rounded performer with deep black levels for the money and decent shadow detail. Color saturation is one of the TV's high points. The E450 uses less power than most plasmas its size.
The bad: The image washes out quite a bit in normal room lighting. The picture processing suffers from poor compatibility with 24p and 1080i material, and this could be symptomatic of the TV's low 720p resolution. Color accuracy is fairly poor.
The bottom line: The Samsung E450 series plasma may not be perfect, but you won't find another TV that performs this well for this low a price.
