>> Hi I am Kent German, senior editor here at CNET.com. Today we are going to take a first look at the Samsung DMS110. This is a new phone for Disney mobile service. This phone looks a lot like the Samsung SPHM300 which is a former Sprint phone. Same basic shape, same basic size, it does have a pink here outside that is one difference from the Sprint phone. It also has a star pattern here on the front face, but the same mirrored front, same external display, all of that. Also this phone does come with DMS 105 which is exactly the same, it's just that it's silver and the star pattern is just a little bit different. I have the camera lens here, there is no flash but the external display does function as a self portrait mirror. Display is pretty small but it is colorful and it shows all the information you will need. Here on this side you have volume rocker, here on the side you have a charger port, a camera shutter in a covered headset jack. Open up the phone, inside display is pretty nice, it's bright, vibrant. Disney's mobile menu is pretty easy to understand, maybe a little too simple for some people but over all well designed. Keypad, navigation keys are taken from the early Sprint phone as well. Navigation talk on array is very large and these soft keys are especially big, well as the talking and end the power key. Toggle has a little tidbit of definition, the okay button in the middle, these are pretty flat though so it's a tiny bit slippery, so you just want to make sure you know what you're doing when you are dialing, it's a little hard to move around by feel. Keypad buttons are also flat but they have the slightest bit of texture on them, which makes it almost easy to dial by feel actually, I had really not that much trouble using it and the keys are also large, with large numbers and bright backlighting, so even though they are flat, a little better than a lot of phones. Overall the phone like other Disney mobile phones has Bluetooth and a camera, speakerphone and also a lot of Disney content that we were pleased with, younger people and I am sure some adults as well. I am Kent German and this is the Samsung DMS 110. ^M00:01:52 [ Music ]

Samsung DM-S110 (Disney Mobile) Review

Editors' rating

The good: The Samsung DM-S110 offers an attractive design, easy-to-use controls, and a feature set that should appeal to adults and kids alike.

The bad: The Samsung DM-S110 speakerphone isn't dependable. Photo quality is below average, and the camera does not record video.

The bottom line: Outside of a new manufacturer, the Samsung DM-S110 doesn't offer original features for the Disney Mobile lineup. Yet it does bring good call quality and a bit of style.
