Samsung Contour SCH-R250 - red (MetroPCS) Video Transcript

Hi, this is Jessica Dolcourt from CNET.com. I am here taking a first look at the Samsung Contour. This is a very basic phone from MetroPCS. It has an external display. When you flip it open, you'll see that it's got a very sturdy hinge right here. There is a VGA camera that's a very low resolution and on the 2-inch internal display, you're also looking at a very low pixel resolution that's 128 X 160. The Contour actually has a really nice dial pad. It's got big keys that are comfortable to touch thanks to this sort of rubbery material and they're also very responsive. You also have your basic apps. You've got your calendar, all of your tools and all other organizer features, and MetroPCS throws in a few of its own like instant messaging, mobile e-mail, a WAP browser, navigation, and voice commands. So this phone technically is 3G capable but MetroPCS really only offers 3G in the Dallas-Fortworth area and Detroit so you're likely to get 2.5G speeds on this. Call quality wasn't bad overall but it wasn't great all of the time either. It is $49 without a contract from MetroPCS and, again, this is a decent phone for a decent price if you're looking for a phone that just makes calls with not a lot of whistles and bells. I'm Jessica Dolcourt and this is the Samsung Contour from MetroPCS.
