Samsung 830 Series Video Transcript
Hello, my name is Dong Ngo and today we check out together another solid-state drive from Samsung, the all new 830 series. Now, away back, the Samsung 470 series was one of the first solid-state drives or SSD's that I play with and it was just as gorgeous and it was so incredibly fast. The new 830 series now does that in a big way. The new drive is now thinner and even better looking. On the back, its cover is made of aluminum painted in black with the word SAMSUNG shiny engraved on it. It looks more like a piece of expensive jewelry than an internal drive. Just think about the amount of attention you can get when you wear it on your wrist or on the chest. It's a shame that the drive is generally hidden inside a computer chassis when in used. As a storage device, the 830 takes the 2.5-inch standard design of internal hard drives. On the side here is the SATA connector that helps the drive work in any applications where regular laptop SATA hard drives are used. The new drive now supports the latest SATA 3, 6 Gigabits per second standard which offers twice the speed of the previous innovation. It's compatible with all SATA controllers however. This particular drive offer 512 gigabyte of storage which is one of the largest on the market for solid-state drives. So, 830 series does come with other capacity all the way down to 64 GB. In our testing, the new Samsung 830 series really blew us away especially when used as a boot drive of a computer and did I mention that it look really pretty too. We actually love the cover of the test machine open the whole time for that reason. In all SSD, the 830 has no moving part. It makes absolutely no noise or vibration when in used. Now, the question is how much that it cost and it turned out to be a big question as I really don't know. Samsung says that the new drive surprisingly wouldn't be similar to other SSD of the same standard and capacity on the market and wouldn't be reveal with the drive is available for purchase in October. For now, all I can say is it is not crazily expensive. It would be definitely worth it for you. For me, it's always worth the time I've had with it. I didn't pay anything. For more information on how the drive performs and possibly that its cost, check out the full review at cnet.com. Once again, my name is Dong Ngo and this has been the first look at the Samsung 830 series solid-state drive.

Samsung 830 (64GB, SSD, Desktop Kit) Review
The good: The 2.5-inch SATA 3 (6Gbps)-based Samsung 830 series solid-state drive offers great performance, is well-built and good-looking. The drive comes with helpful desktop software for Windows.
The bad: Due to the thin profile, the Samsung 830 series requires padding or a laptop kit, which costs extra, to fit in most existing laptop computers.
The bottom line: If the price is right, you don't need to look any further than the Samsung 830 series to upgrade your computer's internal storage to the best possible performance.
