>> Jason: The Safari 4 Public Beta was just released with some interesting new features to make your browsing experience even better on the MAC. I'm Jason Parker [assumed spelling] from Download.com and this is a first look at the new Safari 4 Beta. Current Safari users will certainly update when the new version comes out but even Firefox users should take note of some of the new features. With the new version tabs are handled slightly differently sitting right on top of the window; this allows for quick access to sights but the change might take some getting used to for Firefox fans. To quickly create a new tab you can hit the plus button at the top right of the window. One of the major feature changes is the addition of the top sites page a 4 by 3 thumbnail layout of all your most visited sites. Simply click on a thumbnail to view it in a full window. You also can see which sites have updated since your last visit by the addition of a star in the upper right corner. To make web browsing an even more visual experience Safari 4 lets you use cover flow to flip through bookmarks and search for sites in your browser history. Along with all these unique interface improvements Safari 4 Beta loads pages even faster than before using a new nitro engine. We notice a difference just browsing to new pages on our own; this browser is definitely quick. Like I said before, if you're a Safari user to begin with you're going to like all the new changes. If you're a Firefox user you still may need to weigh whether you need your favorite extensions because Safari 4 still doesn't offer an extension framework. Overall Safari 4 Beta is looking like a great update to the already solid web browser for MAC. I'm Jason Parker and this has been a first look at Safari 4 Public Beta, thanks for watching. ^E00:01:42
