Rosewill RK-9000 Video Transcript

Hi, I'm Justin Yu, associate editor for cnet.com with the first look at the Rosewill RK-900 USB keyboard. Now, the mechanical keyboard trend is getting more and more popular and the Rosewill RK-900 is an inexpensive effective product to start your click-clack keyboard addiction. It has all the features hardcore typists are looking for, including Cherry Blue switches, a tough nylon USB cord, a low-profile design and it only cost a hundred dollars as opposed to competitive mechanical models that can run up to 250 bucks. The RK-900 uses the same Cherry brand and mechanical switches found in most mechanical keyboards that give you 2 stages of movement and require a lighter press than most mechanicals. Now, that's where this loud clicking sound comes from when you type and some even claimed that this audible confirmation can improve typing accuracy and speed. We used the RK-900 over a period of 2 weeks and we're able to get an extra 10 words per minute using the Rosewill compared to a normal laptop keyboard. The RK-900 is also really simple. So you might enjoy the Das keyboard series better if you want things like extra USB ports in a [unk] design. But, on the other hand, the Rosewill will still offers this tough nylon wrap cord and laser-printed key labels. Overall, we really enjoyed using the Rosewill RK-900. With all the core features in mechanical keyboard without the hefty price tag, we recommend it to anyone who cares about these devices. You can read all about it in our detaile review on cnet.com. But that's gonna do it for me. I'm Justin Yu. This is the Rosewill RK-900 USB mechanical keyboard, and that feels pretty good to me.

Rosewill Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Blue Switch Review

The good: Cherry Blue switches offer satisfying tactility with every click; cheaper than most mechanical-switch keyboards; durable braided cord; small footprint.

The bad: Lacks extra USB ports.

The bottom line: Mechanical keyboards are gaining popularity in circles that miss the tactility of the original IBM Model M, and Rosewill introduces an inexpensive version in the RK-9000. It doesn't have the bells and whistles of competitors like Das Keyboard, but the Cherry Blue switches, molded keycaps, and simple-yet-durable design make the Rosewill RK-9000 an excellent, affordable product to start your click-clack keyboard addiction.
