>> Jessica Dolcourt: It's almost impossible to be a computer user without accumulating a dozen or so passwords. But who can remember them all? I'm Jessica Dolcourt, with www.cnetdownload.com. And this is a first look at Roboform, the utility for securely saving your passwords, and more. You'll start by setting a master password, with Roboform, keep it strong, but make it something that you'll still remember because pretty soon, it might be the only password you have to remember. Roboform installs a toolbar into your Internet Explorer or Firefox browser. That's the app's main control panel, but you'll also be able to access everything you need from the system tray icon. Roboform is best known for managing passwords by creating logins, whenever you enter a password into a new site, Roboform will ask you if you want to save your log in information, in what's known as a pass card. The next time you visit the site, you just select from the list, and walo [assumed spelling], you're signed in. It works similarly for filling in forms, and commonly required information like your name, address, birth date, and so on. And when you encounter a form that needs filling, save time, and finger muscle, by hovering over your profile name, and selecting fill form. You can add information regarding your work, bank account, and credit cards, that's credit cards, plural, just click the tool bar button to add a new credit card. Make sure the padlock is closed, if you want it password protected. Saving passwords, protect pages, you're newly bookmarking, or saves data on the web page into your pass card. The password generator will auto create strong passwords you can use for new logins. Roboform search box quickly pulls up content you have saved in the system, like a password protected safe node [assumed spelling] or log in. You can always edit your preferences, or create multiple forms, [inaudible] identifies, pass cards, and so on from the toolbar's main drop down menu. You'll also find a few extra controls, like a button to clear the field in an online form. An option's to [inaudible] from auto fill settings, to security provisions. Roboform is an extremely convenient time saver that also makes security a high priority.
