On Crossfade TV this week, the Download Music team checks out a solo compilation from onetime Gang Starr member Guru, new material from electro DJ Miss Kittin, and the Herbie Hancock's Grammy-winning album 'River: The Joni Letters.'
In the recently published memoir, Mother Teresa admitted that she had always wanted to be a Beatle. And who can blame her? After all, so did Elvis, Ozzy, Ringo, and Elton John. This movie was made possible by a generous grant from the Rolling Stones Foundation for Second Best Rock Stars.
MILK's new album is now out worldwide! As seen in Rolling Stone Magazine, this album was produced in Los Angeles and Liverpool by Fran Ashcroft (Gorillaz, Dandy Warhols, Damon Albarn). Their mission is to lead a new trend of "New Alternative Psychedelia", combining the aesthetics of trippy hippie bands with a post-grunge appeal and a "forward thinking" vision.

Formed whilst at music school in Liverpool, England, Reism is comprised of 3 main members. Joe Cochrane originates from Ventura, California and contributes drums, programming and commerical-minded production. Tom Poole-Kerr comes from Somerset, England and brings guitars, programming and non-comformist producing to the process. Finally, Kirsten J?rgensen, from Skuneshavn, Norway, adds her haunting and powerful voice. The unsigned debut album from Reism "Lifestyle Product" will be available soon. Apple Corps Ltd have announced the eagerly anticipated DVD release of The Beatles' second feature film Help! on November 6th (November 5th ROW) marketed and distributed by EMI Music.
Directed by Richard Lester, who also directed the band's debut feature film 'A Hard Days Night', 'Help!' made its theatrical debut in 1965. The story follows The Beatles as they become passive recipients of an outside plot that revolves around Ringo's possession of a sacrificial ring, which he cannot remove from his finger. As a result, he and his bandmates John, Paul and George are chased from London to the Austrian Alps and the Bahamas by religious cult members, a mad scientist and the London police.
In addition to starring the Beatles, 'Help!' has a witty script, a great cast of British character actors and features 7 classic Beatles tracks, including:

There are 2 editions of the DVD - a standard digipack and a deluxe boxed set that will contain a reproduction of Richard Lester's original annotated script, 8 lobby cards and a poster, plus a 60-page book with rarely seen photographs and production notes from the movie. Both the deluxe book and the standard booklet feature an introduction by Richard Lester and an appreciation by Martin Scorsese.

After the first home recordings in the early 90's, DBS (aka David) got some wider recognition in 1998 when three of his songs appeared on the "legendary" Czech (Karvina) compilations "Rhymes Street Squad". He contributed, along with the rest of Karvina groups and soloists, his next songs on RSS compilations released in 2000 and 2001. He then established the label RS Entertainment with DiGaZ, which in 2003 released a CD re-edition of the "Rhymes Street Squad" compilations, and in 2004 released the albums H.C.F., Odboy and Dva z Moravy. During 2001-2003, he universally played concerts (as forerunner of world stars GangStarr, DJ Vadim, PMD & DJ Honda...), recorded songs for compilations, and worked on his first album. In 2004, DBS released this album at major label Universal Music. Both sides came to an agreement, and on the 8th of November, 2004 Karvina indenpendent label RS Entertainment (in cooperation with Universal Music) released the first DBS album "6ka". Real pop stars are more than just popular; they are barometers for an era, providing the images for the world's memories of a particular time. Look back to the 1960s and we see those Beatles smiles and monochrome suits. Cast your mind back to the late 1990s and it is those Girls, those songs, that dress. Music snobs might sniff at the comparison to the Fab Four but all those Beatles dolls, Beatles annuals and movies that made John, Paul, George and Ringo such omnipotent beings in the 1960s were re-created in the 1990s with just as much fervour around Emma, Geri, Mel B, Melanie C and Victoria.
