The music of Reism is a fusion of gothic industrial electronic rock. The combination of heavy guitar riffs, electronic drum kit, dirty synths, and soaring vocals make for an interesting and complex musical experience. Formed whilst at music school in Liverpool, England, Reism is comprised of 3 main members. Joe Cochrane originates from Ventura, California and contributes drums, programming and commerical-minded production. Tom Poole-Kerr comes from Somerset, England and brings guitars, programming and non-comformist producing to the process. Finally, Kirsten J?rgensen, from Skuneshavn, Norway, adds her haunting and powerful voice. The unsigned debut album from Reism "Lifestyle Product" will be available soon. Blackmore's Night:"Olde Mill Inn"
Legendary Deep Purple and Rainbow guitarist Ritchie Blackmore (b. April 14, 1945, Weston-super-Mare, England) shifted his musical focus away from hard rock in the late 1990s and started concentrating on his love of Renaissance-era music. He formed Blackmore's Night with his fiancee, vocalist/lyricist Candice Night (b. May 8, 1971, Hauppauge, Long Island, NY), and recruited other musicians from around the world to combine elements of world music, Renaissance, new age, folk, and rock & roll. Blackmore didn't exactly retire his Fender Stratocaster, but he plays acoustic guitar almost exclusively in Blackmore's Night. His acoustic guitar melodies and Night's clear, ethereal voice blend with a host of instruments such as mandolins, keyboards, pennywhistles, violins, tambourines, military drums, and hurdy-gurdies. Blackmore once described the band's sound as "Mike Oldfield meets Enya." Blackmore and Night met in about 1989 when Deep Purple played soccer against employees of a Long Island radio station where she worked. Night, a former model, studied communications at the New York Institute of Technology and had her own radio show. Blackmore and Night discovered they shared a love of Renaissance culture and quickly became a couple. The formation of Blackmore's Night is tied to the efforts of his previous two bands. Blackmore left Deep Purple -- again -- after 1993's musically disappointing The Battle Rages On... album. Blackmore then revived Rainbow -- technically under the original Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow moniker -- with largely unknown musicians for 1995's Stranger in Us All, and Night contributed lyrics for four songs. Blackmore didn't really want to call it a Rainbow project, but record company executives insisted the name recognition would make it easier to market the album. After Stranger in Us All, Blackmore decided to actually record Renaissance-inspired music. He'd loved the style for years, but he never really played it himself. Once he began playing the music at home, Night would casually start singing along. This innocent, informal practice germinated into Blackmore's Night. The debut album, Shadow of the Moon, was released domestically in 1998. Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson contributes flute on "Play Minstrel Play." Under a Violet Moon followed in 1999, and since a full tour was planned Blackmore consciously wrote more upbeat, stage-friendly music. ~ Bret Adams, All Music Guide

Dub Trio: "Casting Out the Nines [Live]"
TThree distinct personalities functioning as one unit, Dub Trio seems capable of making all manner of sounds. The three gentlemen collectively known as Dub Trio bring noises into this world that are unique, decidedly new and fresh. Drawing on music at large, rather than forcing a marriage of two things that were never quite divorced, they bring an eclectic and attractive take on the term "new music." Primarily just drums, bass, and guitar, but the "job description" for each member varies from track to track. Staying away from overtly clich?d genre restrictions, Dub Trio is free to bring you to the dance floor, to tears or at least give you a peek at the three minds at work. The drums function as a section, rather than as one instrument in the hands of Joe Tomino. You will hear this section transform over the course of a record or live show, the pulse never wavering yet morphing into drum machine-esque sounds, then suddenly, to big rock drums assault. The inspired moment to moment decisions acting as a foil to the three way cat and mouse game that the band brings nightly to the stage. The bass is the foundation. Stu Brooks delivers low end like it is a weapon. One moment like a telephone pole swinging towards your gut and the next moment a playful rump shaking pulse locked in with Joe as they let it roll. The bass also changes faces many times in a performance, but never loses the pocket. Amazing that "feel" is measured in milliseconds when Stu is at the controls of a big oceanic sound. The guitar in Dub Trio, played by DP Holmes, always seems to be the device for cueing a response in the listener. Dave makes shapes, colors and devices for emotional control one moment, then is careening down the highway at 120 mph in a rusty Chevy Nova the next. The medium becomes the message when the distortion kicks in. Aggressive, dreamy, liquid and solid. There is a command of the elements in the guitar section. With this second record, New Heavy, Dub Trio shows us a more aggressive side of life. Special guest vocalist Mike Patton (Mr. Bungle, Faith No More, Ipecac Recordings) lends his voice to "Not Alone," the album?s standout hit. Heavy, moody, melancholy music at its best. This is a record to be enjoyed LOUD!

Visiter by San Francisco band The Dodos is their second full length and first for Frenchkiss. Originally formed in 2006 under the moniker Dodobird as a one man acoustic act, Meric Long would gig around SF playing folky guitar w/ a combination of loops and ambient keyboards. Having already studied West African Ewe drumming, Meric got turned onto country blues fingerpicking and sought to create a band where the drumming could be a center role and help bring out the syncopated rhythms coming out of the acoustic guitar. Through a chance introduction by a roommate, Meric met Santa Cruz transplant Logan Kroeber, who had also been experimenting with drumming, but in the area of progressive metal. Eventually the band changed their name to the Dodos, through constant harrowing from first tourmates Peter and the Wolf, and got a rehearsal studio where they'd spend long hours improvising the music that would become their first record Beware of the Maniacs. The band quit their day jobs as a line cook and a printer and hit the road in Oct. 2006.
Avec-A are a Dutch noiserock band formerly known as Avec Aisance - for fans of Sonic Youth, The Fall, Thermals, and Ikara Colt. This is their third video. "Like my friend blue" is a videoclip from a track of their 2004 debutalbum Vivre dans l'aisance. The video shows a wild performance in an Amsterdam club called Winston. Absentee's new single is out soon in the UK and is currently available from American iTunes. This is the video to accompany the brew of fuzz guitars, pounding drums and deep, deep vocal delivery. Absentee are currently building a reputation in the UK for producing slightly melancholy and at times twisted pop music with a distinctive edge. In lead singer Dan Michaelson they have the natural succesor to Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen and Stuart Staples.
