This very popular player has been streaming Internet media since 1995, which makes it one of the oldest media players in its class. Real media supports major file types including MP3, MPEG-4, QuickTime and Windows media, in addition to its own real audio and Real Video files. Real Player and organize your music files adding song ratings and annotation with the ID3 tags, that's really useful because it cuts down a lot of time when you are searching through your music collection. If you are tired of your own songs or just want a change, you can tune in to Real's online radio stations, which you can access from the player itself. As far as the media playback goes, Real Player does what its sets out to went pretty nice quality. Another plus is that it contains enough preference and skin options to customize the way the player organizes your files, which is really, what most users will want it for. However, Real Players heavyset promotion may put some users off. Real Player navigates to the real guide each time it opens, which is really a window into real Media's proprietary content and premium services that gets real old, real fast. And while it looks like there are numerous extra functions and services, many link you to other real media products like Rhapsody online music store. Users also get minutes at the nav screens that encourage upgrading to the paid service. Real super Pass, which is what the paid services called, includes exclusive access to news and entertainment videos. It also includes advanced controls for audio output and burning and access to a select set of radio stations. Users who want more premium features for free should consider holding out for Real Player of 11, which is currently in beta and is also currently available from CNET download.com, you should check it out. The new version which is Vista ready I might add supports flash videos like U2 content and furthermore lets you save streaming movies and music directly to your hard drive. However if you are more interested in organizing a music library or streaming vacation video, the basic free setup of RealPlayer 10 won't let you down. During installation, you have to be careful if you don't want to set JetAudio Basic as the default application for audio and video files. However, the freeware application gives you plenty of reasons to make it your only player. The interface has a modern design that looks like an equalizer. You can customize each section of the program, from CD ripping to format conversion, to your heart's content. The program can convert files among some 10 formats, as well as read and edit MP3 tags. The built-in Cross-fader, Reverb, and Wide-sound modes provide a nice touch not found in most MP3 players. The program becomes truly unique with its clock, however, which features a timer and an alarm. We also appreciate the inclusion of a tool for seeking out song lyrics. Our only quibble is it treats a playlist as an album but uses the artist as its primary key field, making it difficult to locate mixes. JetAudio Basic's appealing product set should attract audiophiles.
The Samsung S5 is an MP3 player with a fun interface and excellent sound quality; the screen is a bit small, but this player is still a great choice if you want to share your tunes at the drop of a dime.
